Good Health WINs funding and expenditures must focus on building an army of good health champions who understand the importance of immunizations across the lifespan. The goal is to educate, advocate and impact families and communities across the U.S. to address health disparities and shine the light on the importance of good health.
Requests may be submitted as follows for each event:
- Up to $500 – Chapter-led with no external partners, or co-sponsored event
- Up to $750 – Chapter-led with 3 or more external partners
- Up to $1000 – Undergraduate & Graduate partnership with 3 or more external partners
Priority consideration will be given to Undergraduate Chapters, then Alumni Chapters collaborating with Undergraduate Chapters where feasible. The Project Manager is authorized to revise final funding amounts based on past performance, national and regional equity, and funding availability. Appeals to funding decisions may be submitted to the International Grand Treasurer for reconsideration.
Mini-grant funding considerations:
- All mini-grant funding requests must be submitted by a Chapter Member in Good Standing (nationally financial) who will serve as the Point-of-Contact. The Chapter Polaris must be consulted and listed on GHWs funding request submissions.
VERIFICATION POINT: Grand Treasurer - The Point-of-Contact and Chapter Polaris listed on funding request submissions must review GHWs informational training and have been certified as a “Trusted Messenger” by the Project Manager or his designee. Certification is available to any member of Iota Phi Theta through instruction in the Fraternity’s learning management system or training sessions conducted by the Project Manager.

- Prior to a chapter receiving a funding allocation, the Point-of-Contact will:
- Attend at least 1 NCNW Community of Practice (CoP) sessions within the past 45 days of submitting a funding request. - Understand credit card usage in the Abacus system (virtual or physical card)
- Agree to timely expense reporting through Abacus within 3 days after end of event.

- Budget planning and limitations:
- A minimum of 75 percent of requested funding must directly target marketing or advertising toward the Good Health WINs campaign (vaccine awareness and health disparities). No more than 25 percent of total requested funds may be spent for refreshments and food (light fare) as part of a sponsored or co-sponsored event

VERIFICATION POINT: Funding request submission - Expense Reports must be submitted within 3 days of purchase/spending. Future funding requests will be denied if expense reports are outstanding.

- Failure to provide a detailed description in the funding request category of “Other” (if used) will result in denial of the entire funding request.
- Chapter Reports must be submitted within 5-7 days or future funding requests will not be honored for at least 6 months after the delinquent report is submitted.

- Event pictures that reflect funded activity (content and participation) must be uploaded with the GHWs submission report in the MyIota portal or emailed to ghwinfo@iotaphitheta.org

may result in denial of future GHWs-related funding.
